About

What CiteCue is

CiteCue is an AI visibility platform that tracks how AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity mention, cite and recommend your brand, then turns the gaps into a prioritized list of fixes.

Why it exists

A growing share of buying research now ends inside an AI answer. Someone asks an assistant which tool, which supplier, which brand — and acts on the two or three names it returns. If your brand is not one of them, nothing in a conventional analytics or rank-tracking stack will tell you, because there was no impression to count and no click to attribute.

That is the blind spot CiteCue was built for. It asks the questions your buyers ask, on a schedule, across the major answer engines — then reports what came back and what would have to change for the answer to include you.

Who it’s for

Built for

  • Marketing and SEO teams who already rank in search and cannot see what AI answers say about them
  • Ecommerce and DTC brands whose products get named — or skipped — in AI shopping recommendations
  • Agencies reporting AI visibility across a roster of client brands
  • Teams who want prompts grounded in their own Search Console demand rather than a generic keyword list
  • Businesses preparing their site not only to be found by AI, but to be usable by AI agents

Not built for

  • Brands looking to buy or manufacture mentions — every fix CiteCue drafts is a change to your own site or your own published evidence
  • Teams wanting guaranteed placement in a specific AI answer, which no tool can honestly promise
  • Anyone needing classic rank tracking alone, which existing SEO suites already do well
  • Enterprises whose priority is a market-wide historical prompt index, industrial-scale content production, or many language-and-country combinations inside one project

How it works

A loop, not a dashboard. A visibility score on its own improves nothing — the value is in what happens between measuring and measuring again. The detail behind each stage lives on the AI visibility monitoring page.

  1. Detect

Commercially relevant questions run across the engines on your plan, surfacing missing mentions, lost citations, inaccurate claims, crawler problems and competitor advantages.

  2. Explain

The answer, its cited sources, the affected prompts and the competitor evidence are kept together, scored across 13 citation factors — so a loss has a named cause rather than an inferred one.

  3. Fix

The finding becomes a specific action: a content change, a technical fix, an outreach or community task, or an agent-usability problem to resolve.

  4. Publish or hand off

Supported changes go out through AI Auto-Fix or an approval workflow. Technical work you would rather own can be exported as an implementation-ready prompt for a coding agent.

  5. Prove

A later scan checks the original success condition. Publishing a change is not the same as improving visibility, so the verification stays inside the loop.

What we will and won’t claim

This category attracts confident promises. Ours are bounded on purpose — a claim you can check is worth more than one you have to take on faith.

  • AI answers are non-deterministic. The same prompt can return a different answer minutes apart, so CiteCue reports rates and trends across repeated scans rather than a single reading.
  • Engine coverage is narrower than the full roster on most plans. The nine engines below are what the platform can scan and what Enterprise covers; self-serve plans scan a subset built around ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. See /pricing for current coverage.
  • Results come through provider integrations, so an answer can differ from what someone sees in a logged-in browser. Tools built on browser-level capture are closer to that particular reading.
  • CiteCue cannot make an AI engine cite you. It measures where you stand, identifies what is missing, and drafts the changes; earning the citation is the work those changes do.
  • Fixes apply to properties you control. CiteCue can draft and serve changes to your own site; it does not edit third-party sources on your behalf, and no responsible platform can manufacture genuine reviews, press coverage or community trust.
  • Auto-Fix needs a delivery connection. Serving changed pages requires a connected CDN or CMS route plus your approval — more setup than copying a recommendation out of a dashboard.
  • The discovery data is project-specific, not market-wide. CiteCue works from your site, your Search Console demand and your prompt set; it has no index of historical prompt volumes to explore the way a large SEO suite does.
  • The most differentiated capabilities are plan-gated. Agent Usability and Autopilot sit on higher tiers, so a smaller plan shows you the workflow without its most automated parts.

We don’t publish customer counts, logos or outcome statistics we can’t substantiate. When we have case studies worth reading, they’ll name the method and the measurement window alongside the result.
